The on-site tracks are needed to bring all of the plant required during construction and decommissioning onto the site, and to provide access the wind turbines for maintenance throughout the wind farm lifetime. These tracks, which are 5m wide, have been located on existing farm tracks and along field boundaries. This minimises arable land take, keeping as much of the farmland in crop production. The tracks with also be able to be used by the farm vehicles as firm access routes from field to field. The photographs below, show the track construction and the crane hardstanding construction.
