Community Fund
As well as increasing renewable energy supply, we believe that increasing energy efficiency and energy conservation in local homes and businesses is part of the solution to combat the serious threats of climate change and security of energy supply.
We have therefore pledged to make a contribution of £40,000 upon commercial operation of the wind farm and £10,000 every year thereafter over the life of the project, for the implementation of energy efficiency and education projects in Burton Latimer. This fund is administered by Kettering Borough Council.
Projects to benefit from the fund so far include:
- solar hot water heaters at a sheltered housing scheme in Burton Latimer
- childrens books on renewable energy in the local library
- contribution towards insulation of the Burton Latimer Guide Hall
