Project Facts

Burton Wold Wind Farm is Northamptonshire's first Wind Farm, consisting of 10 turbines with an installed capacity of 20 Megawatts.

The turbines are supplied by Enercon Gmbh, one of the world's leading wind turbine manufacturers. The Enercon E70 model has a 2 Megawatt capacity, is 64 metres to the hub and has a 71 metre rotor blade diameter, giving a 99.5 metre tip height.

The project was developed by Your Energy Ltd, is owned by Mistral Windfarms and operated by Engineering Renewables Ltd. E.ON UK is buying the electricity output of the wind farm under a long term power purchase contract.

The Mistral Group are advised by Platina Partners LLP, who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.

  • Regional companies Breheny and Lamva were awarded the civil and electrical installation sub-contracts for the wind farm.
  • The wind farm will contribute £290,000 to the local community over the life of the project, for the implementation of energy efficiency and education projects in Burton Latimer. This fund is being administered by Kettering Borough Council.
